Line Producer

James has worked in virtually every capacity of film production since beginning his career at Propaganda Films in 1988. Propaganda Films was also where he first met City Drive’s Head of Production / Supervising Producer, Tima Surmelioglu and worked as a production manager for her on multiple projects. Since then he’s been a producer and line producer of documentaries, music videos, commercials, IMAX and concert films.

Artist’s he has worked with include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Sheryl Crow, Seal, Wynton Marsalis, Eric Clapton, the Bee Gees, Steve Winwood, Mark Knopfler, Paul Simon, Keith Urban, Snoop, Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Lynne, Slash, The Dixie Chicks, Jeff Beck, Johnny Cash, Missy Elliott, Gary Clark Jr., Carlos Santana, Tori Amos, Carole King and James Taylor, Mary J. Blige, Kris Kristofferson, BB King, the Eagles, Neil Diamond and Cream. Since 1999 James began focusing on live shows and festivals, working to capture the atmosphere and excitement that come with artists performing in for ardent fans. Specific titles include Eric Clapton’s 2007, 2010 & 2013 Crossroads Guitar Festivals, Carole King and James Taylor Live at the Troubadour, Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne & ELO, Eric Clapton And Steve Winwood Live From Madison Square Garden, Paul Simon Live at Webster Hall and Cream (Reunion) Royal Albert Hall 2005. His work has earned him an Emmy for Eric Clapton’s 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival, received awards from the AICP, the Music Video Producers Association and been awarded two Cannes Silver Lions.
